About Andrew Plato

Andrew Plato is an experienced CEO, founder, author, and cybersecurity expert. In 1995, Andrew founded Anitian, one of the world’s first dedicated cybersecurity companies. Over the next 26 years, Andrew helped pioneer advancements in security technologies and practices such as intrusion detection, endpoint security, risk assessment, and cloud security.  Andrew has directly managed thousands of security projects and has extensive experience with compliance frameworks such as PCI-DSS, FedRAMP, Department of Defense Security Requirement Guide (DoD SRG), ISO 27001, NIST, CMMC, SOC2, HIPAA, CJIS, and more. 

Andrew’s vision culminated in the invention of an automated, cloud security platform that dramatically accelerated the security of ultra-high-performance, regulated workloads.  After securing venture investment, Andrew steered Anitian through exponential growth and built lucrative alliances with technology giants such as AWS, Microsoft, Trend Micro, Red Hat, Sentinel One, and Qualys. Andrew successfully exited Anitian in 2022.

In 2019, Andrew spun out his technical due diligence and industry analysis practice to a new company, Zenaciti. Zenaciti provides research, analysis, and strategy consulting to leaders and investors worldwide. Zenaciti has provided technology, security, and compliance intelligence for multiple corporate acquisitions, totaling over $12 billion.    

In 2023, Andrew founded yet another company, Screenopolis, a community of writers providing commentary and analysis of movies and streaming media.

Andrew is the author of The Founder’s User Manual: Practical Strategies for the Startup Leader which distills decades of hard-learned lessons from running a startup.
